Description of my work "Castelmola", Taormina (Sicily, Italy) / Solo-Exhibition at Kamakura 9/26-10/1

Here is one of the works that will be exhibited in my solo exhibition starting September 26.

“Castelmola” (Taormina, Sicily) , oil-painting, Size SM

It’s a small work depicting my favorite Sicily. The motif is a panoramic view from Castelmola, a village on the summit of Taormina.

Taormina, an ancient and beautiful resort in Eastern Sicily, overlooking Mount Etna.

The lovely village is also dotted with lovely villages on the mountain that rises behind the town.

The church and fortress of Madonna del Rocca, halfway up the mountain, offer a wonderful view of the town with the sea in the background.

Further up the mountain, the beautiful village of Castelmola is tucked away.

The view of Taormina and the azure blue sea far below is breathtaking.

On the way back to Taormina, if we get off the bus halfway at Madonna del Rocca and walk down the stairs and hill, the view overlooking the town of Taormina and the mediterranean sea is also spectacular.

I posted about Castelmola on my photo blog a few years ago. I‘d be happy if you could refer to it.

This piece is also on my FB event wall. Please check out that page too if you like.
